What is a proper bodyshop repair?

A bodyshop repair is more than paint. At Luxury Bodyshop in Park Royal, every job is carried out inside our workshop using the same methods a manufacturer approves: stripping the affected area, correcting the shape of the panel, priming, refinishing in a controlled spray booth, then flatting and polishing for the final finish.

Because the work is done indoors, dust, weather and temperature are controlled. The paint is baked in the booth, so it cures properly and holds up long term.

Repair or replace? How we decide

Most cosmetic damage does not need a new panel. A skilled technician can reshape, fill and refinish steel and aluminium panels back to factory tolerance. Replacement is the right call when structural integrity is affected, safety systems are involved, or a panel is torn beyond a safe repair.

Scuffs, scratches, small dents and paint chips are almost always repairable.
Kerbed alloys, kerbed bumpers and cracked plastics can be refinished.
Impact damage that has affected mounting points or crumple zones is replaced.

How paint matching actually works

We start with the paint code, which is usually on a plate inside the door jamb or under the bonnet. That gives us the base formula. From there we use a professional colour-reading device on a clean area of the panel, because a factory colour ages differently on every car depending on sunlight, mileage and washing.

The reading is combined with sprayed test cards to fine-tune the mix before any paint goes on the car. When the match is right, the repair blends into the surrounding paint without a visible edge.

How to prepare your car for drop-off

Give the car a rinse where possible so we can properly assess the damage.
Remove personal items from the boot and cabin.
Leave roughly a quarter tank of fuel in case a test drive is needed.
Bring the paint code or V5 if you have them, though we can find them if not.

You do not need to stay while we work on the car. Most customers drop it off, head back to work or home, and return once we let them know it is ready.

After your repair

The paint may feel touch-dry but continues to cure in the days after the repair. Avoid pressure washing for at least 24 to 48 hours, skip automatic car washes for the first two weeks, and hand wash gently. Waxing can wait for around three weeks.

How long will my car be with you?

A localised scratch or scuff can often be turned around in a day or two. Larger panel or collision jobs typically take between three days and two weeks depending on parts.

Do you handle insurance jobs?

Yes. We can quote and repair privately or through an insurance claim, and we deal directly with third-party insurers where needed.

Do I need a deposit?

We take a 10% deposit to lock in your repair slot. The balance is payable on collection.
